Our distinguished alumnus, Mr. Chia-Chen Wu, Department Manager of Manufacturing at TSMC Fab14A, delivered a public lecture on “AI & Semiconductor Manufacturing” on September 21, 2025.

With over 25 years of experience at TSMC, Mr. Wu has been directly involved in the company’s process evolution from 0.35μm to 5nm. He has long been responsible for fab-wide operations, specializing in process planning, workforce management, conflict resolution, crisis handling, and capacity optimization.

In this lecture, Mr. Wu provided an accessible introduction to the 2,000+ steps required to manufacture a chip, and shared insights on Taiwan’s irreplaceable role in the global AI supply chain, as well as how smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0 are shaping the future of semiconductor fabs.
